International Day of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder – Raising Awareness
As we mark International Day of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, (PTSD) today, 26th June, it is important to understand what PTSD is and that it may be covered by NDIS if it is associated with a Psychosocial disability (a term used to describe a disability that may arise from a mental health issue.)
PTSD symptoms may include nightmares or flashbacks, avoidance of situations that bring back the trauma, heightened reactivity to stimuli, anxiety or depressed mood.
People who have a Psychosocial disability and PTSD are affected in a range of ways, and the impact can be devastating for the individual. Integrity Disability Hub have services that can take the day-to- day pressure off an eligible person through our programs including personal care, daily assistance, social activities, transport assistance, therapeutic assistance, employment support, capacity building and more.
If you are eligible for NDIS services, get in touch and we can discuss the services that can help you to negotiate life with a complex disability.
