The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian Government initiative that provides support for Australians with a disability. It is a needs-based system that provides funding for the care and support people with a disability need to live their lives, designed to give people with a disability more choice and control over the support they receive. It also provides peace of mind, knowing that there is a safety net of support if they need it. The NDIS has been a major reform to the way disability services are funded and delivered in Australia and is available in all states and territories across Australia. It provides funding for a range of supports and services that can assist you in living your best life possible. If you are eligible, you will have an individualised plan that is tailored to meet your specific needs and goals.

The NDIS is currently available to people with disability who are aged under 65 and who meet the access requirements. The access requirements are based on having a permanent and significant disability that affects your ability to take part in everyday activities. To be eligible you must meet these access requirements and also be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, or a holder of a protected special category visa. Find out more here.

To get started with the NDIS process, you will need to contact the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). The NDIA is the government agency that is responsible for delivering the NDIS. They can be contacted by phone on 1800 800 110 or online through their website. The first step in the process is to have an Access Request Form completed. This form can be completed by you, your parent or carer, or someone else on your behalf. The form can be found on the NDIA website.

Once the form is complete, you will need to submit it to the NDIA. Once the form has been received, the NDIA will assess your eligibility for the Scheme. If you are eligible, you will be contacted by the NDIA and an appointment will be made for you to meet with a planner. The planner will work with you to develop your NDIS Plan. This plan will set out the support that you need to achieve your goals.

Integrity Disability Hub is dedicated to providing the best disability care services in the Greater Western Sydney region.
